Circular design applies the principle of closing material loops to buildings, products, and spaces. Instead of the linear take, make, dispose model, it asks designers to plan for disassembly, adaptation, reuse, and the recovery of components over a building's whole life. Flexible layouts, reversible assemblies, and salvaged or surplus materials are common tools in this approach.Members here share projects that show these ideas at different scales, from modular play systems built from surplus containers for refugee camps to reversible retail interiors, a school extension designed for carbon-negative performance, and urban pavilions rooted in regenerative practice. Several entries also explore speculative forms, such as rotating and shifting structures, that treat change over time as a design condition.
