City Vulnerability
Design and architectural responses to urban fragility, resilience, and recovery in cities facing environmental, social, or infrastructural challenges.
City vulnerability explores how designers and architects address the physical and social fragility of urban environments. This includes strategies for disaster relief, adaptive reuse of failing infrastructure, and protective design that responds to environmental and humanitarian crises. The community examines case studies ranging from post-war shelter adaptation and bioclimatic public space interventions to community-centered recovery frameworks and adaptive architecture for dense urban areas affected by disaster, vacancy, or systemic decline.
