Modern Home Design
Residential architecture and interior design that combines contemporary planning with material honesty, daylight, and sensitivity to site and existing buildings.
Modern home design centres on residential architecture and interiors built with contemporary planning, clean forms, and a close relationship between indoor space and its setting. Designers working in this area balance open layouts with privacy, and select materials for durability, warmth, and how they age over time.Work shared on uni.xyz under this topic includes new luxury houses, the adaptive reuse of existing structures, biophilic schemes that bring landscape and natural light into the home, and additions that sit alongside historic fabric. Members examine how these projects resolve the tension between modern living and the character of their context.
