Portuguese Architecture
Architecture and design work from Portugal, spanning residential, educational and vernacular projects across Porto, the Algarve and Alqueva.
Portuguese architecture combines a strong vernacular tradition with contemporary practice, often working closely with local landscape, climate and materials such as clay, stone and timber. Architects in the country have built a recognised body of work in houses, housing and public buildings that responds carefully to context.
Members on uni.xyz share projects that range from restorations of rural houses in the Algarve to tiny homes near the Alqueva reservoir, urban glass houses in Porto and a nursery in the same city. The work shows how local materials, building traditions and site conditions shape design decisions.
