Lotus Lodges reworks the typical spacial layout of student accommodation. It has been designed by prioritising community space to create a strong atmosphere for the residents. The shipping containers have been composed around a perimeter to emphasise the central lotus structure, which is the engine for the design both symbolically and physically.

Climate change has caused the sea level to rise 25,000 feet higher than pre-apocalypse. The only areas not underwater are the mountain peaks. Life has rejuvenated upon the Himalayas Mountains. With the use of NASA's Environmental Control + Life Support System combined with desalination of surrounding waters, life continues at 27,940 feet above sea level.
