From Fragility to Resilience: An Integrated Approach to Coastal Settlement on Kutubdia Island

This thesis focuses on Kutubdia Island, where climate change is already causing severe land loss, displacement, and livelihood insecurity. Recognizing that relocation is not feasible for many residents, the study explores how architecture can support resilient, adaptive, and sustainable communities while preserving local livelihoods and social ties.

desert sawqana oasis

Desert Sawqana Oasis is a sustainable resort in Karbala inspired by the Al-Sawqa’ana phenomenon, reflecting the contrast between its dry desert surface and its hidden life-filled interior. The design transforms natural rock fractures into geometric forms, creating an oasis centered on sustainability, passive cooling, and natural ventilation .

Akanksha Satpute_Architecture Portfolio

This portfolio is a reflection of how my understanding of architecture has evolved over time. It has taught me to look beyond buildings and drawings, and to appreciate how spaces are influenced by people, their routines, and everyday experiences. I enjoy translating these observations into thoughtful design and continue to approach each project as an opportunity to learn and grow.

SINGANALLUR LAKEFRONT DEVELOPMENT

This proposal reimagines Singanallur Lakefront as a sustainable public landscape that balances ecological restoration with urban recreation. Through accessible public spaces, green infrastructure, and nature-based design strategies, the project enhances biodiversity, strengthens community engagement, and creates a resilient waterfront for Coimbatore.

Hi! Are antennas or vertical structural elements (like columns) included in the height restrictions (15m)? Or they can exceed the limit of 15m?

No they are not. A basement can be permitted but not more.

Marina Nakova

Hello, I would like to ask about the functions inside the Athenaeum. Are there mandatory functions we need to use and do we have restrictions about them and their area ( for example Auditorium - 300sq.m. ; Cafeteria - 200sq.m. etc.) or is it completely our choice what functions to put and how to organise them? Thank you.

Urban Continuum:An alternative learning ecosystem

Education has increasingly become detached from the lived realities of the city. Urban Continuum proposes an alternative model in which learning is embedded within the rhythms of everyday urban life. Instead of concentrating education inside institutional boundaries, the project distributes learning across existing neighbourhood spaces, creating an interconn

A thoughtful and original approach that expands learning into everyday urban life. Further exploring how this model can operate across different public spaces could strengthen its potential and impact.

Thank you so much for the thoughtful feedback. The project grew from questioning the mono-functional nature of urban spaces and eventually led me to explore learning as something that could connect people, genetations and everyday civic life beyond the conventional campus. Your suggestion to test this model across different public spaces is something i'd really like to explore further, particularly how different urban contexts could create different opportunities for learning and collective information.

AQUALUTION CENTER /Water purification center/

Project is collection of ecology and tourism history. It should pay homage to the technological achievements and history of the site, repay the debt to nature that has been depleted at the site, and be a place where visitors will come and perceive both the historical significance and the driving and scientific part with its visitor character.
