Wuhan Architecture
Architecture and design work shaped by Wuhan's climate, rivers, and urban fabric, published by community members.
Wuhan is a major city in central China, situated at the confluence of the Yangtze and Han rivers. Its hot, humid summers, cold damp winters, and extensive waterways create design conditions that differ from those of northern or coastal Chinese cities. Architects working here often respond to flooding risk, natural ventilation, and the relationship between built form and water.
On uni.xyz, members explore how these local conditions inform projects of many scales and types. The work published here, such as Oasis Cabin: A Minimalist Retreat in Harmony with Nature, shows an interest in restrained forms that sit within their surroundings and respond to natural context.
