Dear Sir and Madam, Hope my message finds you well, I am Dr. Moohammed Wasim YAHIA, University of Sharjah. I brought this competition (Afloat 2.0) to our students in the architecture department (about 69 students), and they are highly interested in joining. Still, they have some questions about the competition that I needed help answering. Can you Please answer the questions below so they can go with the process? All the best, //Moohammed • Since they mention that the lower income group is considered as the fishermen and the high-income group is considered as the city people, so all the lower income houses (disregard the view) should be beside the cost, then the mid-income, then the higher income being the furthest from the cost and the nearest to the city? • When we say high-income group, (disregard the number of rooms since each family will have its number of members), do we need to consider: 1. Room size? 2. How far is it from the cost? (safer) 3. The material used in the building. (How expensive or how strong is it to hold up) a. (but I think even though the most robust material might be more expensive, it is either used for all the houses because the ones beside the cost are the ones in big need.) so we need to overlook the material point since we need to make sure all the people stay safe 4. Different facilities inside the house? a. So, maybe higher income has their kitchen, but the lower income has a shared one between 2~3 households? b. The same with bathrooms, but on a smaller scale, like a bathroom for each room in high-income houses and a shared bathroom in lower income. c. Since the high-income group is city people, they might go to schools, e.g., a study area/room is needed in the flat? • Can we build underground? For example, water holding reserves/ underground floor with no window that acts as a garage and has flood-resistant walls, etc. • Can we have tech-like water ponds in several places that lead to a water storage tank? • 7. Can we use engin
