Bijoy Ramachandran

Bijoy Ramachandran is an architect and urban designer. He is a partner at Hundredhands, a widely recognized design studio based in Bangalore. Bijoy has a Bachelors degree in Architecture from BMS College, Bangalore University and a Masters degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, USA, in Architecture & Urbanism. He also attended the Glenn Murcutt Masterclass. Bijoy has been a panelist at the annual all-India undergraduate thesis review, the Kurula Varkey Forum, at CEPT, Ahmedabad, and is currently the Design Chair in the Department of Architecture, BMS College of Architecture, Bangalore. Apart from architecture he has also made three films. ‘Architecture & the City: A Bangalore Perspective’, a documentary feature he made on professional practice in the city in 2005. In 2008, he produced ‘Doshi’, a documentary feature on the Indian architect B.V. Doshi, directed by Premjit Ramachandran. The film has been screened nationally and internationally and was an official selection at the Architectural Film Festival, Rotterdam, 2009 and the Architect Africa Film Festival, South Africa, 2010. The film is also now part of the archives at the Cité de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine in Paris. In 2019, Premjit and Bijoy made ‘Doshi: The Second Chapter’, a series of conversations with Mr. Doshi on life after 90 and the Pritzker recognition.

Her professional years in New York and India have exposed her to a wide spectrum of projects. She uses the project brief as the guiding principle and the source of inspiration for the project. When not thinking about work you can find Namrata dreaming about the mountains or dreaming in the mountains.

Sunitha Kondur is a partner at the award winning architecture and interior design practice Hundredhands Design, along with Bijoy Ramachandran. She has a Bachelors Degree from BMS College of Engineering and a Master’s Degree from MIT in Boston. She went on to work as a project manager with the Mass State College Building Authority and the prestigious Houses at Sagaponac Project in New York before returning to Bangalore, India in 2003 to set up the design practice. She also founded Source, a materials, product and furniture sourcing company and deeply believes in the revival and integration of indian art and craft in the work the studio produces. Sunitha is a founder member of Smart Vote, a campaign supported by citizens & different organizations to increase participation in the electoral process. She is passionate about travelling, trekking, sports and music.

Murray Legge, FAIA is a principal with Murray Legge Architecture and is a graduate of the Cooper Union School of Architecture in New York City. His professional achievements include receiving the 2006 AIA Austin Young Architectural Professional Award as well as more than 20 design awards, including two national AIA awards and the Chicago Athenaeum American Architecture Award. Winner of the prestigious Lyceum Fellowship, he was also twice a finalist in Van Alen Institute competitions, including the Paris Prize. In 2013, Murray was elevated to the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects. His work has appeared in numerous magazines and newspapers, and he is a frequent lecturer and critic at the University of Texas at Austin, School of Architecture. Murray is also a co-founder of Legge Lewis Legge, an interdisciplinary collaborative, based in Austin and New York . With a focus on large-scale installations and public. Legge Lewis Legge has been widely recognized including receiving a national AIA award in 2009.
