When cities are 'designed', they function under entropies(randomness) bio-mechanical character. These are influenced by the stability between the Economy, Transport, Social life and Neutral Built-mass. A 'Neo' Delhi modulates these entropies, it thrives by fusing its history into its future, ensuring a sustainable and organically morphing identity.

In the growing city of New Delhi, Connaught Place is one of the main identity of the city. To make it a better place, we propose architectural, urban solutions to the problems that it carries, such as lack of walkability and traffic. With commercial, cultural, religious, political and inclusive aspects in mind, new programs are introduced in to the site.

Rather than focusing on micro-rewrites that would only attempt to alleviate Connaught Place?s urban issues, the proposal creates a mega-rewrite. Micro-rewrites would only operate as handiwork. Through this mega-rewrite, Connaught Place will be demolished and rebuilt: a TABULA RASA.

Re-Conciliation

As India is Evolving, it is time for the capital to UPGRADE to face the upcoming URBAN ISSUES.The evolution of Connaught Place indulges with Commerce, Heritage and Inclusivity. It is still serving a vast demography even if the prices to afford this place are off the charts.The Design is directed to acknowledge the issues occurring based on the SWOT analysis.
