8WinnerON THE WAY THE TASK WAS TO MAKE AN ACCOMMODATION FOR 100 TRUCK DRIVERS, WHICH MUST ENABLE QUICK STOPS FOR REST AND REFRESHMENT, PROVIDE A PLACE FOR FOOD CONSUMPTION AND SPACES FOR A LONGER REST. THE SHAPE OF THE BUILDING IS INSPIRED BY A TRADITIONAL INDIAN HOUSE WITH A CENTRAL ATRIUM. THE BUILDING HAS TWO FLOORS SO THAT IT DOES NOT TAKE A LOT OF AREA.
36People's Choice AwardON THE WAYThe purpose of the construction is to design an easily repeatable and adaptable construction that can be used in different parts of India on different sites. It is a hostel for 100 truckers who currently do not have the opportunity to stop somewhere for food, sleep or the toilet. One of the points of the assignment was that it should be a modular solution.

30A respite - 'on the way'Think about the trade network of India, and you can picture the endless National Highways, the paddy fields dotted along its sides and the multicolored inter state trucks - parked when the sun is up and darting across as the lights go down. The design of a rest stop for about 100 truck drivers for the purpose of quick pitstops - an oasis of tranquility.
2MOTEL IN INDIA The motel is inspirated by house nalukettu, which is typical for the region, where is motel located.
