CREATIVITY OF ORIGINALITY
The integration of different types
Jazz music is a creation of blacks brought to America as slaves from Africa. This type of music was born as a result of African Negroes coming together to make rhythms and dance with the sounds they made, without any musical instrument. This was actually the way they were integrated into this new society they were brought into. Beyond living as a slave, it was an area of freedom offered by one's own nature, body and spirit. This music was improvised. This music was beyond the order of the obligations they faced in their new life. African people created this music with the only thing they had, their bodies and souls. this music
This improvisational feature of jazz music is emphasized by the moving parametric mass in the project. This mass is the performance hall where the stage is located.
Hall mass, just like jazz music itself, goes beyond the rules of improvisation. But it does so by its own nature and belonging to the solid mass it is in. A void is created within the mass with certain boundaries and dimensions, and the parametric mass is positioned here entirely by its own nature. It is integrated with the main mass. The integration of both masses with each other shapes the whole concept.
The project area has a feature where the commercial and residential areas are together. For this reason, it provides access to the residential area and adds a new quality to its location. The simplicity of the main mass of the project shows the harmony of the design to the region. The fact that the moving parametric mass is on the side façade ensures the continuity and harmony of the front façade with the other buildings in the adjacent order.
The project consists of 3 floors. The first floor consists of the administration office, exhibition and food services. The exhibition area works integrated with the entrance hall and is located on the ground floor as a corridor. The second and third floors consist of the performance hall and its related units. The floor heights of the project are determined as 3.00 meters. The performance hall is located in a space of approximately 6.00 meters with the parametric mass. This gap also allows for the ceiling height to be caused by acoustic requirements. The main entrance is taken from the east façade to emphasize the façade dominated by the mass. The performance hall is designed for 30 people.
The main mass of the project is considered as reinforced concrete and steel. It is designed as a parametric mass steel construction. The performance hall is also designed in steel and reinforced concrete.
