When I first saw this topic, I felt that it was a very random topic. But as I got to know the competition, I saw the venue, the requirements and plans of the competition. I gradually became interested in this project.
At the beginning, I didn't pay attention to all the information of the competition, so I only spent time on the construction. When I began to look for something deeper, I found a very unusual condition - a greenhouse that occupies almost half of the site planning. It's a space that people can't enter. Why should it be set next to the flower shop? I have thought about this question for a long time, before I want to see and think about it clearly. My building is an ordinary square box, without any special features. But from the beginning to the end, I have an idea that everyone can stay in the flower shop for a long time, just like you can chat with friends lazily in the afternoon. Therefore, I reserved a large enough public space at each stage. At that time, compared with the coffee shop, the public space of the flower shop was not for drinking coffee, but for looking at flowers, many flowers. The coffee in the coffee shop is a kind of taste every day, but in the flower shop, there are different surprises every day. The seeds, buds, buds, and even the flowers that came here yesterday bloom or wither when they go today. Rainy days, cloudy days and sunny days are different every moment. So a large enough window is indispensable.
After determining that the building needs a courtyard and windows. I also thought about the conditions that I discovered very late. I tried step by step to let the greenhouse and the building show together, so that the closed greenhouse may become one of the most effective attractions of this flower shop. The greenhouse sets off the building, like flowers, leaves and flowers. I try to find this point, hoping to find a bridge from it. Architecture is no longer the architecture itself. Three major changes were attempted. From the square box to the bionic, and then to the present appearance.
I spent a lot of time investigating the site. Although I inquired on the Internet, it was really true. I watched their flower parade, watched the videos shared by their residents, and others. Because it is most suitable to build this building only if we have enough knowledge of the site. This building is located on the road to the suburb in the northwest of Zundert city in Netherlands. Facing a main road leading to another city. It's not too far from the city center. The vacant land is surrounded by communities. Although the community is a distance from the bustling city center, the air here seems to feel a unique calm compared with the city center. Therefore, it is extremely appropriate to set up a flower shop here. However, this calm life needs some stimulation, just like water drops on the water surface. Therefore, the appearance of my building is like a spray, so that this florist can add a little passion to this peaceful community. People are waiting for the annual flower parade in this city, and they can come here to stir up the "waves" in their hearts.
The sea of flowers and the waves seem to be a good combination. When you think it is romantic to stand on the beach and look at the sea in the distance, you can also feel the good mood brought by the sea of flowers when walking in this building. The waves are light and natural. How to reflect it in the building. The eaves should look very thin, the waves should be stacked, and there should be a romantic "sea".
If so, steel structure seems to be my best choice. The overall white color is the main color, which is a humble gesture to the flowers.
It is the pursuit of every architect to turn his ideas into reality. During the design process, I feel like I can walk into the buildings I designed. This is a belief. The structure of the building I simulated is relatively complex, so steel structure may be the most appropriate way. Wood, concrete and glass are also indispensable in architecture.
