A light enjoyable journey that can be a great memory to tourists and local visitors. The project started from the journey that the visitor will enjoy while exploring the different parts of the project. In order to fully engage with its functions, the visitors will use more than one sense. when we watch a video talking about chocolate or reading a piece of information about it, we strongly wish that we can taste some or be able to choose which type we do prefer. Due to that, the visitor will taste many types of chocolate and at the same time will read a glimpse of its history. The project consists of two main functions: a temporary and a long-term exhibition.

The visitor will immerse himself through a calm delicious journey starting from tasting and reading about chocolate then crossing the chocolate bridge and finally, the visitor can enjoy the beautiful view of the river.

In order to create a flexible movement with a comfortable sense of place, the design takes into consideration sufficient light that crosses throw large skylight and well-studied small windows that can transfer the light in a dramatic way. One of the intentions of the project was to create an open flexible space where the visitor can feel comfortable while surfing through the project. The solid soft walls reflect the softness of the chocolate. Also, the light colors bring joy and cozy to the visitor while eating chocolate and reading about its interesting history. Chocolate stands consist of three parts, dark chocolate, white chocolate, and brown chocolate. Each stand describes how each type of chocolate was made, when and where. After eating delicious chocolate, visitors can move to the first floor to experience the chocolate tunnel. It was created to tell the story of chocolate’s evolution in an immersive way. People while crossing the tunnel will only be dedicated to watching its walls that tell the story like if they are watching a movie.

The first steps of the project developments were done using a grid to define the different spaces then dividing the spaces into more specific ones. After that, to ensure sunlight crosses the building, the skylight and the bending roof create a great combination. A high height level was created to feel more comfortable and to make the project more lit. Additional mass was added to the main façade and was directed towards the river to enjoy the view while eating. The mezzanine floor was chosen to create a fluidity in the design and make it to look like one story that starts with the ground floor and ends on the first. Due to different events that might take place in the museum, a temporary multi-function museum area was created. Located near a calm space filled with greenery which brings nature to the design and creates an additional great experience.
