Winston Churchill once Said, "We shape our buildings, and afterwards our buildings shape us”.

The dormitory experience-the residence for many students for a year or two, most of their time and energies and activities in the same place. Students spend a significant amount of their college career studying, socializing, and sleeping in their Dorms away from home. As a result, it is important that their room provides a comfortable and inviting space to recharge and establish a sense of ownership. As for the research of "UF Researcher: Dorm Room Design Features Affect Psychological Health" Published 2018

So that was Our Main Concern to make the best use of Site and to make it feels like Home to the Students

Students needs greens and Natural Light and the perfect colors to make that building affect them and their psychological health in  a good way that make them be the best at their degrees and GPA
We wanted to Make a building with a the facilities that requires Gathering in the same building to make the student not feeling isolated and lonely .and to make that Place with curved lines “There are no straight lines or sharp corners in nature. Therefore, buildings must have no straight lines or sharp corners” - Antonio Gaudi

And to  make sure that the students when they enter their brain produce the Theta , Beta, and Gamma waves that make the brain more relaxed and more sufficient. The Main Concept of the building is to make building that stand out but blend in with the context and to take advantage of the levels as it relief the stress as you go through the landscape .Knowing that Manila Has a high  volcano-prone in Philippines so in the “NATIONAL BUILDING CODE OF THE PHILIPPINES MALACAÑANG Manila PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 1096”  as in our building and recommended in the code to use “Type IV – Type IV buildings shall be of steel, iron, concrete, or masonry construction. Walls, ceilings, and permanent partitions shall be of incombustible fire-resistive construction: Except, that permanent non-bearing partitions of one-hour fire-resistive construction may use fire-retardant treated wood within the framing assembly.” And the chosen Type based on the criteria of the building which is there in “Group B – Residentials, Hotels and Apartments Group B Occupancies shall be multiple dwelling units including boarding or lodging houses, hotels, apartment buildings, row houses, convents, monasteries and other similar building each of which accommodates more than 10 persons. "and to make the building more suitable in the context so it was made on a grid of 2*2 to make sure that the building is similar to the building around it and the special thing about this building is to that the attraction part is in the Gathering Space And the Gathering Space  is not surrounded  by walls all the way around it contains flexibility in the outer wall it only contains Slabs and Spiral stairs that make a statement in the building to reach out this final project we have been to stages the first is to study the context and the levels of the site and make a grid of that .second was to make the  a grid from the boundaries of the chosen site and make a perpendicular on it to make the module that based on it we created functions .we intend to approach to the final design of the building by making research about Manila to be aware of the conditions of the city and to know what is the best for the mental and psychological health for the students and to make the building go along with the context and landscape and to make the building unique in it’s own way and to make the best function of it by creating a space where students feels like Home the program was mainly the standard thing in any student Housing but add some extras for the pandemic that happened such as corona virus so we added a room for quarantine isolation and not to forget about the disabilities people that we made a special room for them and the building has elevators to help them move easier in the building and a gathering building as we mentioned before that has all the entertainment facilities and gathering area and made some places indoor /outdoor as it  present social activity but yet respect privacy  of the student .

We tried to achieve the most function and yet comfortable with a unique design to try to create a triangle with the health of student and the context and finally function we also tried to make this building more economic by confine the materials that is used more likely at Manila so that we use local material from the city to make the best use of the local materials. Based on “Philippines Statistics Authority  NCR Provincial office Manila “Construction Materials of the Outer Walls Concrete/brick/stone

Galvanized iron/aluminum

Glass

No walls Construction Materials of the Roof Concrete/brick/stone

Galvanized iron/aluminum

Glass

No walls the purpose of the building that to make the student comfy and to make the best profit of the building with the minimalist materials and to make the building Iconic in Manila with the Entertainment Space and to make the building had a capture in the head .For Conclusion ,the building is where you feel comfort and accessible to every space without releasing  that it far away or that you’re isolated  the student housing will reflect the student grades ad success and failure so the point was to make them have their privacy like home and to make them live the best experience to have friends and gathering spaces that make them fitting in and to involve with the people and society and the city to make staying in Manila a Great experience that will affect their career and life in a good way and to make the Entertainment Place always an Capture in the head at Manila “Architecture should speak of its time and place, but yearn for timelessness” - Frank Gehry
