Casablanca Finance City Cube Tower By OUALALOU+CHOI – Modern Architecture in Morocco’s Business District
Casablanca Finance City Cube Tower features minimalist stacked concrete blocks, public amphitheater, and innovative office design, redefining urban space in Morocco.
Located in the heart of downtown Casablanca, Morocco, the Casablanca Finance City Cube Tower by the acclaimed architecture firm OUALALOU+CHOI is a landmark example of contemporary office design. Completed in 2024 and spanning an impressive 8,200 m², this innovative tower redefines public and private interaction within a densely built urban environment.

Set in Casablanca’s fast-growing business district, where urban density often leaves little room for public space, the Cube Tower introduces a new paradigm for corporate architecture. Elevated above street level, the building extends public space into its footprint, allowing the community to inhabit, interact, and enjoy areas traditionally confined to private domains. At the tower’s base, an expansive staircase doubles as a public amphitheater, providing an inviting social and gathering space while revitalizing the streetscape of this high-density district.

The architectural concept embraces minimalism and abstraction, standing in stark contrast to the eclectic and often exaggerated surrounding structures. Composed of stacked monolithic blocks of raw white concrete, the tower’s design emphasizes purity, scale ambiguity, and subtle visual rhythm. Each block varies slightly, creating a dynamic play of light and shadow across the façade, which contributes to a sense of movement and musicality despite the building’s austere geometry. Traditional architectural elements are purposefully omitted, enhancing the structure’s modern, sculptural identity.

OUALALOU+CHOI, an award-winning international architecture and urban design studio with offices in Paris and Casablanca, spearheaded this project. Founded by Tarik OUALALOU and Linna CHOI, the firm is renowned for designing spaces that challenge architectural constraints while fostering cultural resonance. The Cube Tower exemplifies the studio’s philosophy: architecture as a platform for negotiation, resistance, and reimagined urban interactions. By merging functionality with speculative design, OUALALOU+CHOI creates buildings that are both inclusive and forward-thinking, emphasizing public engagement alongside technical precision.

The Casablanca Finance City Cube Tower now stands as a testament to bold yet restrained contemporary architecture in Morocco. Its minimalist concrete blocks, abstract presence, and integration of public and private spaces make it a cultural and architectural landmark in Casablanca’s evolving urban landscape.
