A New Symbol in the Eno Valley

The Dynafit Headquarters in Kiefersfelden, Germany, designed by Barozzi Veiga, is an iconic example of landmark office architecture that blends monumental presence with contextual sensitivity. Rising in the Eno Valley near the Germany–Austria border, the 10,200 m² building stands as both a striking visual landmark and a carefully integrated piece of the surrounding Alpine landscape.

Architectural Form and Concept

The building is conceived as a fusion of two pyramidal volumes, its geometry echoing the natural rhythm of the nearby hills and valleys. The design establishes a dual identity: vertical facades emphasize monumentality and visibility from the highway, while inclined sides reduce scale, achieving a more intimate relationship with the surrounding environment.

This interplay of height and slope creates a dialogue between architecture and nature, balancing bold presence with contextual respect. The project redefines the corporate headquarters as more than just a workplace—it becomes a spatial and cultural landmark rooted in its landscape.

Spatial Experience and Interior Design

Although the exterior presents an abstract and enigmatic form, the interior reveals a bright, open, and efficient spatial system. Each floor is organized around consolidated service cores placed at opposite ends, maximizing usable space for collaborative and flexible work environments.

Facade and Materiality

The facade system is central to the architectural identity of the Dynafit Headquarters. A diagonal lattice of metallic elements wraps the structure, serving both functional and aesthetic purposes. It provides shading from solar radiation, ensuring energy efficiency, while maintaining uninterrupted views of the valley.

The lattice transforms throughout the day as natural light shifts, creating a dynamic play of reflections. This continuous change lends the building an animated, living quality that reinforces its connection to the natural rhythms of its Alpine setting.

Integration with the Landscape

Barozzi Veiga’s design embraces abstraction while maintaining strong contextual resonance. The headquarters becomes part of the landscape not through mimicry, but through bold geometry and a clear architectural identity. Its enigmatic volumetry asserts independence while contributing to the broader cultural and natural framework of the Eno Valley.
