Eco-Friendly Luxury Homes in Lebanon: A Closer Look at Skyhaven Residence
This article delves into Skyhaven Residence by BLANKPAGE Architects, merging eco-friendly design with luxury living in Ghouma, Lebanon's stunning landscape.
Nestled atop a spectacular hill in the Batroun region of Ghouma, Lebanon, the Skyhaven Residence stands as a testament to the harmonious blend of luxury living and eco-conscious design. Created by BLANKPAGE Architects, this project redefines the concept of "eco-friendly luxury homes in Lebanon" by integrating sustainable practices with cutting-edge architectural design.

Design Philosophy
Embracing Nature with Modern Architecture
The residence is conceptualized as a balcony/belvedere, offering panoramic views of the surrounding lush green valley and the distant sea. Its arc-shaped plan follows the natural contours of the landscape, minimizing environmental impact while maximizing the scenic vistas. This design approach showcases a new standard for eco-friendly luxury homes in Lebanon, emphasizing a seamless integration with nature.

Sustainable Construction Techniques
Constructed on steep terrain, the Skyhaven Residence employs concrete corbels to project its two floors from the cliffside, reducing the need for extensive excavation and retaining walls. The use of fair-faced and corrugated concrete not only lends a mineral effect to the base but also acts as a sustainable backdrop for the indigenous rosemary plants.

Living Spaces
Interior Meets Exterior
The living areas and open kitchens are enclosed in full-height glazing, blurring the boundaries between the indoors and the surrounding landscape. Aluminum sliding doors transform internal spaces into open-air living areas, reinforcing the concept of living in harmony with nature.

Shared and Private Areas
The house uniquely accommodates two family units within one envelope—one for the client and another for his parents. A meditation room, inspired by Japanese architecture, serves as a tranquil connector, emphasizing mindfulness and the importance of nature in everyday living.

Environmental Sustainability
Solar Power Autonomy
An array of solar panels ensures the residence's autonomy during sunny weather, marking a significant step towards sustainable living in Lebanon. This self-sufficiency not only reduces the home's carbon footprint but also aligns with global standards for eco-friendly living.

Landscape Integration
The landscape design is a thoughtful extension of the house's architecture and the site's topography. It features lawn terraces that merge with native vegetation, creating a sustainable environment that respects and enhances the natural ecosystem.

Setting a New Benchmark
The Skyhaven Residence by BLANKPAGE Architects is more than just a home; it is a benchmark for "eco-friendly luxury homes in Lebanon". It combines innovative design, sustainable practices, and a deep respect for the natural environment, offering a blueprint for future residential projects in Lebanon and beyond. This project exemplifies how luxury living can be achieved without compromising environmental integrity, setting a new standard for architects and homeowners alike.
