The exploration and extraction of Mars
While resources are becoming scarce on Earth a hopeful option is to establish civilization on a different planet. After years of research Mars has proven possibility be able to sustain life. My project is a conceptual design for a hub on Mars. The site located in North East Sytris where there has been findings of water and other life sustaining minerals in the ground. There are also extremely strong wind currents similar to Antarctia which can be harvested for the production of energy. The hub also has deployable pods that are machines that explore and mine the local surrounding to extract the minerals from the ground while also looking for locations for additional community expansion. The materials chosen for the hub would be recycled material from the space craft that is used to get to the planet and local materials found around the site such as basalt and martian concrete. The expansion plan for this community includes finding another cliff side that is feasible or additional deployable pods.
