Green store in residential area
Blooming flowers surrounded by each other, to give love to people around the world.
Zundert is a city with a flower culture. It is also the birthplace of Vincent van Gogh and hosts the annual float parade, so you can feel the strong artistic culture in the city. Zundert's location is surrounded by a rural landscape and beautiful nature reserves, so there are plenty of nurseries and flower shops. They are indispensable parts of people's lives. With the improvement of people's living standard, people's demand for interesting life experience is higher and higher, ordinary retail places have been unable to meet people's needs.
I began to design an interactive florists, to break the florist conventional understanding of the people, building a greenhouse garden in a residential area, let people improve the living environment, when people go outside, they can feel the charm of nature , at the same time,I also hope that visitors from all over the world can feel the love from the city.
The overall appearance is made of square steel, H section steel and glass. It gives the greenhouse plants plenty of sunlight and inviting passers-by to stop and wonder. The whole greenhouse space is surrounded by three cylindrical buildings, which exist independently and are related. In the greenhouse space, people can walk around through the wooden walkway, and there are punching points for people to stay in the space. Into the circular building by circular staircase into the second floor, and can pass the bridge to the other cylindrical buildings.
Three circular relate to each other, like the zundert's flower culture, blooming flowers surrounded by each other, to give love to people around the world.
I think the most difficult point of this architectural design is to break through the conventional, I want to create an unique flower shop, but can not strip the nature of the flower shop itself. In the entire design process, first of all, I went to research about the background history of the Netherlands, zundert’s culture. understand the local conditions and customs, and think how to make some interesting and interactive space in a flower shop , I thought of many ways, the combination of flower shop, camping, shows, books. But the final choice is the combination of Chinese traditional culture, I think the combination of Chinese and Western cultures is more suitable for this city. The world is inclusive, and people of the all over the world pay attention to such a grand float parade every year.
From understanding the terrain where the building is located, to determining the appearance and form of the building and the functional zoning in the space, every attempt, every modification and adjustment made me full of curiosity about this building, and finally I realized it.
Like the design of this architectural form, each of us is an individual, but we will have a relationship with others. We can meet with you here, is a kind of rare fate. Let all over the world of people, feel the love and tolerance conveyed by Zundert and let people feel the charm brought by nature, pay attention to nature, love nature, and make a contribution to the environmental protection of the world.
