What is a workshop? We think of it as a workshop, not just a closed space with machines installed for work, but all the spaces where creators can come up with, develop, and realize new ideas. Humans can get inspiration anytime, anywhere, and based on this, they bloom various ideas. That could be a place to be alone or to talk to others.

The workshop we create is a space where we can absorb knowledge and inspiration, which is the basis of new ideas, and is the root of ideas and making. Creators who wander around the workshop absorb inspiration and ideas through interaction, and use them as nutrients to extend new ideas stems and fruit them with creations. We want creators from various fields to be able to share each other's ideas and further expand their creative foundations through exchanges.

An axis crossing the land north and south was set, and two buildings were arranged based on this. This basic axis is derived from other road lines around the site. The two buildings were resized to fit the purpose of the rooms arranged in each building. The shape of the building was refined with fluid lines in consideration of external and internal movements, and the southern side of the building was expanded to secure sunlight. After that, landscaping was created in the spare space of the land to envision exchanges between the inside and outside of the building.

The space was classified and arranged according to each role and characteristic. Just as the plant roots are divided from one branch, the first floor is designed to be divided and the second floor is designed to be connected to all spaces. The first floor is also opened to flow between the inner space and the outer space, making it easy to access each space. The space was planned to further promote exchanges between creators and encourage creative ideas and collaboration by moving back and forth between various spaces.

*First floor

-Hall

There are small benches in the main hall where we enter the main building, so people can easily relax and communicate. Through the void space opened to the second floor, it is possible to secure a sense of openness and promote vertical exchanges. The small green space around the bench makes the hall feel more cozy.

-Workshop

The metal shop and wood shop give a sense of openness through the front windows inside the building. Since it is a space where frequent ventilation is required, light wooden windows are installed to enhance ventilation. When ventilation is needed in the space, it can be opened and closed easily. Folding doors are installed in the wood shop space to connect the external space, which makes outdoor work easy.

-Studio

Partitions are installed in the team studio, so the space is not completely closed. Through this, it was planned so that creators could easily interact with each other. The private studio was planned as an independent space so that creators could fully concentrate on their own work.

-Multipurpose Room

In the multi-purpose room, a terraced stand is installed to focus people's attention to one place, and there is a difference in height from stand to stand, so you can listen to the presentation without inconvenience in the back view. The windows are installed high so that there is no shortage of lighting on the front.

*Second floor

-Hall

Vertical exchanges with the first floor can be made through the void space. In the rest area created around the void space, creators can create new communication, exchange ideas, and get new inspiration. The lighting is secured through the skylight caused by various roof heights, so you can feel more open.

-Workshop

The chemical lab, electronic area, and small machine lab are each planned as independent spaces, creating an environment where creators could focus on their work. In addition, arrangements are made to minimize the length of the movement to the infirmary in preparation for accidents that may occur during work.

-Library and studio

The private studios, like the first floor, are planned as independent spaces so that creators can immerse themselves in their work. The team studio and library connected by installing partitions. A large window was placed on the front of the South to secure sunlight and openness. The library and team studio can be a creative space for creators and a space for relaxation and communication by being connected to the second-floor hall.

-Infirmary

The movement path with the workshop was minimized to enable quick action in the event of an accident. In addition, it is planned to be placed close to the core to shorten the travel time when it is necessary to move to an external medical institution.
