Kopi Cantel Braga: A Playful, Immersive Coffee Experience by Studio ASA
Kopi Cantel Braga by Studio ASA is a vibrant, playful Bandung café with immersive interiors, nostalgic elements, natural light, and communal spaces.
Braga Street in Bandung is a bustling, tourist-heavy area where visitors often move quickly, their attention divided. Recognizing this, Studio ASA designed Kopi Cantel Braga to stand out and captivate passersby with a vibrant, immersive interior that invites curiosity and engagement.

Innovative Entrance: A Tunnel of Wonder
Instead of a traditional door, the café features a massive orange tunnel acting as a transitional space between the street and interior. This playful design element reduces hesitation to enter while evoking a sense of compression and expansion, creating a unique spatial experience. By transforming the café into a visual attraction visible from the street, Studio ASA ensures the shop draws attention without altering the historic façade of Braga Street.

Hyper-Physical Retail Concept
Kopi Cantel Braga employs experiential design techniques inspired by Atmospheric Advertising. Every corner of the café is curated to engage visitors through immersive elements that encourage interaction. The interior itself becomes a living window display, allowing pedestrians to observe the lively atmosphere inside and enticing them to explore further.

Joyful Spatial Atmosphere
The café’s design theme, "Joyful Childhood Memories," infuses nostalgia and emotional connection into the customer experience. Interactive features, like a nostalgic sliding element, evoke playful memories, while the choice of materials and colors creates a cheerful yet balanced environment. Beige walls form a neutral canvas, accentuated with vibrant orange, mustard yellow, and green furniture, adding energy and vibrancy. This thoughtful combination of textures, colors, and playful elements transforms the café into a sensory-rich environment that encourages lingering and social interaction.

Mid-Century Modern Meets Nature
Studio ASA incorporates mid-century modern aesthetics into the furniture and layout to maintain a timeless, contemporary appeal. Greenery and indoor plants are strategically placed to enhance visual comfort, mood, and overall atmosphere. Large windows and open spaces ensure ample natural light, preventing the interior from feeling confined despite being situated in a busy indoor shopping corridor.

Multi-Level Communal Spaces
The café’s second floor is transformed into an amphitheater-style open space, fostering communal activities and interaction among visitors. By integrating indoor-outdoor design principles, Studio ASA ensures that every area within Kopi Cantel Braga maximizes sunlight exposure and encourages social engagement, creating a lively and dynamic environment.
Kopi Cantel Braga by Studio ASA is more than just a coffee shop—it is an interactive, immersive experience that blends playful nostalgia, vibrant design, and social connectivity. From the iconic orange entrance tunnel to the amphitheater-style communal spaces, every design decision aims to engage, delight, and create lasting memories.
