Noolstrala The Cafe by Nuvosis: A Warm, Community-Centered Artisan Bakery in Tangerang
Noolstrala The Cafe blends artisan baking with warm, modern architecture to create a community-focused café experience in Tangerang, Indonesia.
In the heart of Gading Serpong, Tangerang, Noolstrala The Cafe by Nuvosis is redefining the café experience with its bold architectural presence and its dedication to artisan baking. More than just a café, Noolstrala is a community-driven hub, designed to foster interaction, comfort, and culinary creativity.
Launched in 2023, the café stands as a physical extension of the well-loved Noolstrala Bakery—established by Kade Chandra and Laura Hidayat—bringing their signature approach of freshly proofed goods and honest baking into an inviting, design-forward space.

Architectural Vision: Brick, Light, and Urban Warmth
Designed by local architecture firm Nuvosis, the 133-square-meter café marries urban modernism with a warm, local identity. Its signature façade features exposed brickwork by Bata Antasari, paired with large window frames that flood the interior with natural light. The goal was to make Noolstrala feel open yet cozy—a space where the barrier between indoor and outdoor life blurs effortlessly.
The design balances raw materiality and refined comfort. From textured walls to custom wood furnishings, every element is intended to amplify the warmth associated with freshly baked bread while creating an architectural landmark in Tangerang's fast-growing food and beverage scene.

Interior Experience: A Place to Belong
Inside, the layout encourages interaction without feeling overcrowded. Strategic zoning through furniture placement creates a rhythm across the space—intimate nooks for quiet work, communal tables for meetings, and window-side seating for those just enjoying a morning croissant and coffee.
The interior palette reflects natural tones—clay reds, soft greys, and muted browns—echoing the artisanal philosophy of the bakery. The entire space was crafted to support Noolstrala’s vision of community building, offering more than just a seat and a cup of coffee. It’s a place to feel part of something.

Brand Identity and Community Mission
From the beginning, Noolstrala aimed to become Gading Serpong’s leading artisan bakery, offering customers not just premium pastries but a unique experience that blends craftsmanship with cultural connection.
Through ongoing collaborations with local brands and creatives, Noolstrala is actively shaping its identity as a lifestyle café. Plans are already in motion for expanding this concept across multiple locations, each maintaining the same dedication to quality, creativity, and community involvement.
This approach makes Noolstrala not just a café but a cultural incubator, one that supports emerging creators, promotes collaboration, and elevates everyday routines with design and flavor.
