Revolutionizing Urban Architecture: Synchronicity Tower by Valtari
How does the innovative design of Synchronicity Tower elevate urban living?

Monash University in Melbourne, Australia, recently completed the Centrally Managed Teaching and Maths Learning Centre (CL28), a project designed by Kennedy Nolan. The CL28 is a series of formal and informal learning spaces housed within an existing building on the university campus.
The design brief called for the creation of flexible and social spaces that facilitate student engagement, promoting learning, creativity, collaboration, and engagement with the community and industry. To achieve this, Kennedy Nolan engaged in extensive consultation with numerous stakeholder groups to resolve the complex planning requirements of the various learning spaces and circulation areas.
One of the key design features of the CL28 is its connection to the adjacent landscape and the wider university community. The design achieves this connection both physically and visually, creating a strong and important link to the surrounding environment.
Despite the complex brief and a tight timeline, Kennedy Nolan effectively led the consultant team through all stages of the project, from Concept Design to Documentation, using established systems for communication, coordination, and documentation. The result is a highly functional and visually striking learning centre that meets the needs of Monash University's students and faculty.
The completion of the CL28 in late 2019 marks a significant achievement for Kennedy Nolan and Monash University. With its focus on flexible and collaborative learning spaces, the CL28 serves as an important model for the future of education and the role of architecture in creating dynamic and engaging learning environments.
