There is no debate regarding the fact that education has played a significant role in each one of us becoming successful and becoming part of society. We learned from our parents and teachers, received advice from our colleagues, and even learned from mistakes we had made beforehand. That is how we were able to build an existence for ourselves during each step in our lives till this point. Our experience with education is created within us through interaction with experts in various fields of knowledge; but more than anything it's due to this type of interaction which involves sharing ideas, learning about foreign cultures, making new friends, and above all expanding your mind in many ways that are at the same time both beneficial and important on an individual level. Education entails studying in order to gain a deeper understanding and knowledge of a number of areas that may be utilized in everyday life. Education isn't just about memorizing facts from books; it may also be gained through hands-on experiences outside of the classroom. People can become better citizens through knowledge, knowing what is good and wrong, allowing for a better society when rules are observed. An educated nation understands the necessity of voting, and does so with the knowledge of not just what their party stands for, but also what their party does not stand for. Education can also assist people in obtaining employment, which is essential for a country's survival. Education is much more than bookish knowledge, and when community members instill ethical, moral principles, they create a constructive environment. The population of successful countries are empowered and aware of their rights; education is to credit for this progress. It is a powerful tool that aids in the development of better societies by providing in-depth understanding of excellent values. Importance of education in architecture We have come a long way as a species in terms of scientific advancement, and education is to thank for it. They are incredibly powerful in their desire to continue learning new information. We can learn from a variety of sources, including our own experiences, critical analysis, and reading. Education is often delivered in a sequential manner through kindergarten followed by primary, secondary school leading upto college or university. Every experience is delivered in a physical space to promote learning and these institutes comprise of education architecture. It incorporates vital offices plans, ace plans and developed and redesigned offices of different sizes and scope. These methodologies and spaces bolster developing models as they relate to instructing, investigating and organization. As architects, we accept that schools are expecting to be communities and ought to be arranged without relinquishing the inalienable positive qualities of the school situations we all want for our children. We know there's no one-size-fits-all plan arrangement to school security. School plan must adjust to contrasting and advancing community concerns, back understudy wellbeing and security, and make beneficial learning situations, all whereas regarding extended school budgets. Architects address social, mental, financial, and natural variables in building plans. Planners accept that imaginative engineering plan arrangements can keep learners and learning central to the decision-making preparation in planning secure schools. By plan, inventive learning situations address the requirement for modern learners to work gently, collaboratively and securely. To plan and construct the unused schools we require and to retrofit existing schools requires critical bolster and assets that go past fair to the engineering, designing and development communities. Educational architecture orientation today Designs attempt to optimize teaching strategies and focus on technology features to create an interactive space for collaboration of students. Today's classroom technology is a quantum leap forward—pervasive, it's invisible, personal, and mobile all at the same time. Architects believe that wiring the entire school—including the outdoors—is essential, and projectors, screens, and sound systems are making their way out of classrooms and into hallways, common areas, cafeterias, and even stairwells. Students can connect to the network from anywhere on campus and use digital displays around the building to view and share their work. The consequences can be subversive in all the right ways, lowering students' reliance on the teacher, encouraging peer-to-peer collaboration, and expanding the sphere of learning beyond the classroom walls to include the entire school grounds. The school multipurpose hall is one of the top design architecture trends. Rather than designing individual classrooms that support only one teaching or learning method (such as a lecture hall or an art studio), educators are instead collaborating with architects to design multipurpose halls—larger, more aesthetically pleasing, more flexible collaboration spaces that can be converted to fit various teacher and student needs. The importance of safety and security measures in school design has increased. While preventing school terror is top of mind for the public, student bullying is a more ubiquitous, everyday issue that presents its own set of architectural challenges. Architecture competitions Architecture contests have a long history, dating back over 2,500 years. Several cathedrals throughout the Middle Ages, as well as the Acropolis in Athens, were built as a result of design competitions around 448 B.C. Many of the Church's efforts during the Renaissance were decided through design competitions in which all kinds of artists brought their varied talents to build up something grand in every sense of that word. In recent times an architectural competition form has taken on many forms. One form is a design challenge in which a company or the government planning to build a new structure invites architects to submit designs and plans. Design competitions offer many benefits, including raising community awareness and supporting design exploration. Independent panels of design professionals and stakeholders usually choose a winning design (such as local governments and residents). These competitions are most frequently used to award commissions for new public buildings, but some competitions seek designs for interior spaces (such as airports) or even temporary structures (such as visitor centers at national parks). The competition may be open to all architects or limited to those who belong to a particular organization. Though architectural competitions are held globally, many of them tend to be national or regional for public buildings that represent their countries. There is one particular competition, however, which has received significant attention from architects around the world - the Chicago World's Fair in 1893. This was a competition that attracted 250 entries from 14 countries (this number does not include the two submissions which were withdrawn) and eventually resulted in the construction of the White City. Many other important landmarks were constructed based on winning designs of competitions that have taken place over time; most prominent among these are Brasilia and Washington’s Capitol Hill, built according to winning entries to international open competitions held on those sites. Architectural competitions are a great way to find creative design enthusiasts who not only have the relevant skills for designing and developing your project but who also share your vision regarding the problems affecting our society today. Types of the architecture competitions: • Competitions that are open to all (international, national, or regional) or competitions that are limited, selected, non-open. • Competitions for projects or for ideas: based on whether the intention is to build the project or to generate new ideas. Depending on the competition's scope and complexity, there may be a single-stage or two stages. • Anonymous or cooperative procedures: anonymity supports greater objectivity during the evaluation and award-granting deliberations. In cooperative procedures, the authors are invited to make in-person presentations to the jury in order to explain their design strategies and allow individual discussion. • Student or institute design competitions (held on university/state/country level for individual or group of students only) There are several architectural challenges like - THE EARTH SCHOOL COMPETITION by Archstorming, arch8 School It Design Competition, 2021 student competition by Ashrae, African Urban School by Archstorming, The future of STEM education, 4th earth architecture competition and many more - that challenge architects and designers to think for a better tomorrow for education.
