Robofurna: Smart Assistive Furniture for Elderly Care
Smart furniture that remembers when you forget.
Robofurna was born from a deep desire to support elderly individuals facing memory challenges and daily struggles with independence. As I explored human-centered design, I became increasingly aware of how traditional furniture does not respond to the emotional and cognitive needs of its users.
This project reimagines furniture as an intelligent and supportive companion. Robofurna integrates voice interaction, reminders, and intuitive features to help elderly users navigate their daily routines, remember essential tasks, and feel more in control of their lives.
Inspired by real challenges such as Alzheimer’s and age-related memory decline, the design focuses not only on functionality but also on dignity, comfort, and emotional reassurance. It aims to reduce dependence on caregivers while promoting confidence and self-reliance.
Robofurna is not just a piece of furniture—it is a step toward a future where design actively cares for people.
