Square and Rectangle
Straight lines to demonstrate the sense of confidence and trust
The square is one basic and simple geometric shape that expresses purity and rationality as a visual element. It is made of four equal angles from four sides, which indicates its regularity and clarity. This shape does not emphasize any particular direction. By standing on one side, it looks stable and on the vertex, it looks unstable and dynamic. From the changes of angles and sides of the square, various rectangular shapes are formed. The square, unlike the circle, is a symbol of firmness, strength and stillness. This shape is a manifestation of earthly and material power and at the same time one of the most beautiful geometric shapes. The rectangle can be thought of as a deformed square that has been enlarged in one direction. Rectangle is the most dominant shape in architectural works and can be easily measured and drawn. It can be implemented and executed accurately and easily. It is well combined with other rectangles and can be easily expanded. The rectangular shapes fit easily with the structural elements of the building, and the home appliances.
These two shapes are the most common shapes we see in our surroundings on a daily basis. Walls, books, cell phones, and even cameras are some of the familiar objects in which we see square and rectangular shapes. Straight lines and right angles of these two shapes inspire a sense of confidence and trust. The reason people use squares and rectangles in the design and construction of buildings is because they feel a sense of trust and power in them.
The square is the major shape of space, just as the circle, and especially the spiral, is the major shape of time. Reality can only be expressed with the help of squares. In fixed and non-desert civilizations, people built their houses and hedges in squares or triangles, while the farms and tents of nomadic and desert tribes were circular. (A reference to the fixed place and the motion of time whose symbols are square and circle, respectively) The connection between a circle and a square represents the sky and the earth and the connection between the two. The square, which is itself a symbol of stillness, takes on a moving state if shapes or letters are placed in it in a special way.
Four equal sides of a square can symbolize the four elements of wind, water, earth and fire or the four main directions of north, south, east and west or four seasons or four stages of life from childhood to youth and middle age and old age or the four natures of cold and warm. Be dry and humid.
"Disability" is a word that in our minds means more than a disability and can cause problems for a person with a disability, but people with disabilities around the world have repeatedly proven that disability is not a limitation, it is the embodiment of a will.
The shape of a surface or volume may be the result of a combination of straight lines or surfaces. Just as the shapes of circles, squares, and triangles are referred to as the base shapes for a surface, so are spheres, cubes, and pyramids as basic geometric objects. These three types of volumes are quite regular and rarely seen in nature. But in general, all volumes arise from the combination or deformation of these three basic and geometric volumes. And for this reason it can be noted that in fact the forms of nature surround us and affect us, and we also reciprocally affect the forms of nature and we transform them. Shapes are the best means of expressing human ideas and from a distance The most ancient days, ie the cave-dwelling period, have been a very valuable tool for understanding and expressing human thought and thought, and therefore are one of the most valuable visual elements that play a very constructive and effective role in the world of visual arts
Considering all the physical characteristics and mental effects caused by the square shape and cubic volumes, and the dominant view that can be seen in the body around the site, so the initial concept of the design in the group's mind was formed into cubes that belong to community members. There are those who, regardless of all the gaps and physical and mental defects, try to achieve their most stable and strong state, and in combination with other members, they create new volumes and characters that complement and complement each other.
The philosophy of using full and incomplete, solid and hollow cubes indicates the physical limitations and vacuum caused by the psychological damage that the clients of this rehabilitation center are struggling with, and we have tried to cover or a different use of this variety of cubes to emphasize the principle that disability is not a limitation and can even be an opportunity for more beautiful manifestation and crystallization
Based on the fact that the center emphasizes the three arts of music - painting and sculpture, so we tried to show this trinity by assembling cubes in three main blocks in the east, west and north side, which in terms of Climate and design invite the light of the south and conceptually accept the light of growth and evolution.
