Symbiont
Symbiont - an organism living in symbiosis. Main Concept - Cultural center created as a small village. Separate programmatic buildings situated along the outdoor space the "road" with a central square in the middle. On top of the each programmatic building situated additional functional element - lounge, exibition, cafe, open theather. Distinct element of the Cultural center is a freeform roof. This roof acts like a Symbiont - an organism living in symbiosis. Programmatic structure - Combining Separate programmatic blocks under same Symbiont roof creates feeling of openness and lightness. Central square can be used for thematic Art installations. Structure and Materials - Local Moroccan handmade construction technic. Inner walls -rammed earth. Outer layer is Perforated double skin enclosure from local handmade bricks. Perforated brick double skin enclosure gives passive ventilation, shade and unique aesthetics. Symbiont roof is made of bamboo, metal and ceramic elements. Interior materials are wood, ceramic, glass Energy - Symbiont roof incorporates solar panels and water collection system.
