TRIVIUM Wellness Culture Complex Space by ALIVEUS Architecture – A Sanctuary of Nature and Mindfulness
TRIVIUM by ALIVEUS Architecture is a serene wellness complex in South Korea, blending nature, light, and minimalist design for mindful relaxation.
Located in Pyeongtaek-si, South Korea, the TRIVIUM Wellness Culture Complex by ALIVEUS Architecture spans 859 m² and was completed in 2022. Curated with a deep understanding of wellness, mindfulness, and holistic design, TRIVIUM embodies a serene environment where nature and architecture harmoniously coexist. Photographed by Fotoglab and constructed by LIJUNG D&C, this wellness-focused complex incorporates premium materials from Sto and Schuco, ensuring both durability and elegance.

Nature-Inspired Architectural Philosophy
The client envisioned a space that evokes pure relaxation, inspired by the natural elements of mountains, water, and sky. Naming the project "TRIVIUM," the goal was to channel the aesthetic of emptiness and tranquility throughout every corner of the complex. The architectural concept explores the balance between filling and emptying spaces, drawing parallels to the wave-particle duality of light. The design process prioritized collaboration, simplicity, and seamless integration of natural surroundings into the built environment.

Central Communal Space: Open Sky and Mindful Design
On the second floor, the central communal area features a waffle ceiling structure with an open square to the sky. This unique design allows for vertical and horizontal openness, providing dynamic views of the sky while enhancing natural ventilation and daylighting. Water features and open-air spaces create a multi-sensory experience, where meditation, yoga, and other wellness activities are complemented by the sounds of wind, leaves, and flowing water. Visitors often cite this outdoor communal space as their favorite retreat within TRIVIUM.

First Floor: Indoor-Outdoor Harmony
The first floor focuses on a seamless connection between indoor areas and outdoor terraces. Water features on the terrace reflect light onto exposed concrete surfaces, subtly transforming the interior atmosphere throughout the day. This space is dedicated to activities such as yoga, aromatherapy, and mindful relaxation, offering visitors a profound sense of calmness. Many guests find themselves immersed in quiet observation of nature, often leading to a meditative or restorative state.

A Journey of Mindful Experience
TRIVIUM is more than a wellness complex—it is a mindful sanctuary. The interplay between structural simplicity and natural integration challenges traditional architectural norms, creating a space that allows visitors to either empty their minds or fill them with inspiration. Through the careful balance of built form and nature, TRIVIUM embodies the client’s long-standing vision of a holistic wellness experience that evolves with time, much like the ever-changing nature of light itself.
