Home Idea

Houses are first produced as residences. Later, house becomes home through its users. The house is a center point. It works in the form of a ring. It is the first and last station in the city. People define the boundaries of the house. They are not visible. Sometimes it's a neighborhood, sometimes it is the room of a house. The parts of the house are variable. Equipping a space with geometrical magnitudes for various actions in a prismatic volume, it can make a new pre-add 'Bedroom', 'Dining Room'. Objects are elements that build the home phenomenon as flexible or more stable sites that follow each other. Home is a space that can be personalized, its boundaries can be redrawn, and it’s personal, flexible and reproducible over time. For that reason, this project aims to offer everybody who feels homeless a space where they can create their own home. According to the United Nations Reports; there are 100 million homeless people in the world. Homelessness, which is a combination of many social problems, is one of the most important indicators of tragedy in the place where humanity is in the 21st century. Undoubtedly, homelessness is one of the most important social problems in today's world.

[UP]Cubes

This project takes the different buildings on E 63th street in New York as context. In this project, considering the increasing population, it is aimed to grow over time and to create a new home layer above New York in the future. In order to create this layer, 4 different cubes were designed. The main purpose of these cubes is to create a space that the user can personalize over time. A different rhythm was tried to be created by creating differences in the juxtaposition of these cubes. With the help of different parameters and variables, the possibilities for the cubes to come together are produced. Possibilities that may occur in this way have shaped the final product. [UP]Cube1 is designed to allow the user to sit, lie down, chat, and socialized. [UP]Cube2 is designed to allow the users to work, read, draw, write, eat and drink coffee. [UP]Cube3 is designed to meet the basic needs of the user, allowing actions such as sleeping and spending individual time. [UP]Cube4 is designed to create the circulation area and to create a social environment provided by the stairs.

[UP]Tools

Since the project is designed around the concept of sustainability, materials with a low carbon footprint were selected. In this way, it is aimed that the cubes that are aimed to be multiplied in the future will cause the least damage to the environment. For the same reason some tools have become part of the design. [UP]Tools are designed to ensure the continuity of the cubes. [UP]Tool1 is a water tank designed to provide the water that the cubes need. [UP]Tool2 is a recycling unit designed to allow the recycling of garbage from the cubes. Finally, [UP]Tool3 is soilless farming unit designed to provide the nutrients that the cubes need.
