Hue Imperial Heritage Museum
"A hidden museum where modern architecture reframes ancient spirit." The Hue Imperial Heritage Museum is embedded underground with a contoured green roof, integrating relics within the Citadel. It relieves historic monuments from unsuitable use, provides orientation and interpretation, and applies rainwater systems for cooling.

Frame 3 — Sacred Focus
The glass pavilion stands revealed, rain-washed and solemn, gathered by rising topography into a symbolic “main icon” of past and present.
Frame 4 — Return to the Familiar
Turning back, relics reappear and the court feels intimate again—closing the journey with a renewed sense of Hue’s living heritage.

From the reception hall, visitors descend a grand staircase directly from the ground floor to B2. The deeper one goes, the further the journey delves into the past. This marks the starting point of the museum experience. The circulation follows a clear central axis, allowing visitors to easily orient themselves. The central atrium features a reflecting pool

At the final stage of the visit, visitors are brought back to the present—and toward the future—through the glass volume at Level 1. This space features a monumental display frame, recalling the traditional timber structure of Hue architecture, painted in red lacquer and gold leaf.
