Zero- energy kindergarden

Our main idea was to create a building with flexible functionality enabling integration of adults with children and modular division of groups. The project was inspired by a book, we later transformed the idea into the stack of books containing children's stories. Our chosen location is in Yazd, Iran, which has a hot and arid climate, so the architectural design needed to reflect the extreme conditions of the location. The conditions include high temperature difference between day and night, as well as extreme temperature differences between summer and winter. The area is also prone to draught.

Our goal is create a day care facility that is a wonder-land of fun, but also a place where kids can learn to be environmentally friendly. We did not want to create a building, instead we wanted to create a nature playground, a park where everyone can enjoy, a relief in a concrete jungle, an oasis.
