About Discussions Projects8 Journals2

Graveyards and memorial spaces represent opportunities for designers to create environments that honor the deceased while serving the living. These projects explore how architecture and landscape design can transform burial grounds into meaningful places that balance solemnity with beauty.

The community examines cemeteries as sites for ecological integration, poetic expression, and spatial innovation. Work ranges from terraced forest cemeteries and ecological burial grounds to sculptural memorials and contemplative gardens that reframe how communities engage with death and remembrance.

Primitive and Remnant of the Cycle

A JOURNEY OF THE DEAD

This proposal redefines the concept of a cemetery and tries to marry the concept of a public space with the place where the dead go to rest... It explores the cemetery as an active part of the urban fabric. It allows for the journey of death to take place in a a public space without interrupting the daily activity of a city and vice versa...

Life path

Life and death are closely connected. The life path is an endless process from birth to the moment of physical death. Our project calls to think about how transient our earthly path is and how great this path is in afterlife.
