The design refers to the free spirit of dance by positioning the spaces associated with dance in a disorganized manner and the other spaces in a more organized manner. The lightweight mass in the form of curtains attached to the building aims to emphasize the dance studios.

Reflective of Tango itself, the building is transparent and simple, and transitions between the indoors and outdoors. Overall, the walks, parallel and cross, create a sense of movement, across the entire site. As in Argentine Tango, the dancers and the audience move along and across axes, in and out of the building with grace.

Built using reusable, prefabricated construction elements, it offers the needed flexibility in an ever-changing city. As people move in and out of the building, the movable, modular wall panels allow creating of their own unique living space.
