About Discussions Projects59 Journals66 Publications50 Competitions29

Urban space encompasses the physical and social environments that define city life. This topic covers architectural and design responses to contemporary urban challenges, from adaptive reuse and densification to creating gathering spaces and improving public realms.

The community explores how designers activate underused plots, integrate housing into dense urban contexts, introduce green infrastructure into built environments, and create flexible spaces that serve evolving community needs. Projects range from small-scale courtyard interventions to neighborhood-wide social housing strategies.

Farm/House, A Hustle Hub for Young Hustler

Farm/House is a new housing strategy that combines housing with urban farming. Here, a young hustler who doesn't have much money to rent a house at the city center can rent as they need. They can rent the initial minimum house unit that can be extended later. The unused housing space that they don't rent will work as urban farming. Simple and profitable!

Building upon the concepts of ‘open-sourcing’ in design, this experiment establishes a user-centric design approach to built interiors.
