32WinnerAlluviumIn a desert landscape, alluvium describes a natural process of depositing fertile soil in an otherwise barren landscape. Within this project, titled Alluvium, the natural flows and pattern language of the arid environment sculpt a diverse and rich community experience providing relief from the urban hardscape surrounding the site.
9Runner-upOasis DaycareOur goal is create a day care facility that is a wonder-land of fun, but also a place where kids can learn to be environmentally friendly. We did not want to create a building, instead we wanted to create a nature playground, a park where everyone can enjoy, a relief in a concrete jungle, an oasis.
12Honorable MentionForm follows : function - flexibility - climateThis project plays with its context to create a singular atmosphere where children are protected of the city disturbances and welcomed.
9Honorable MentionFOLLOWING THE MOUND-A hill forming sustainable life- “What is the concept behind your design?” We thought of the design concept based on our concerns about the ‘Temperate climate’ and children's behavior. As a result, it is our concept to respond to the sun and at the same time create a hill suitable for the activity required by children.

75Institutional Excellence AwardFlower of the DesertChoosing arid climate and Following Biomimetic design, we came to across a plant that lives in the Namibia desert, Welwitschia which is extremely sustainable in Arid areas and lives about 1000 to 1500 years. The unusual form of this plant keeps the soil under the plant cool and moist. The thick leaves lay on the sand surface and prevent wind erosion aswell.
86Institutional Excellence AwardA Form For the Future of a Historic City. The challenge of designing in a historical city added to the challenges brought about by the arid climate of the area located in the central deserts of Iran. The city has a rich history in terms of architecture; Therefore, modern designs in this city have faced some difficulties. Here, we designed a modern building with traditional architectural solutions.
484OUR GENERATIONS DEFINE THE FUTUREThis project is a public use daycare facility located in a tropical monsoon climate (Miami, Florida). Creche for kids in an urbanscape for 100 kids aged 0-7 years. The project targets the best-practice in sustainability through the adoption of solar design principles, energy efficiency, durable materials, reduction in water use and low carbon footprint.
46Kid's Heaven DaycareOur chosen location is in Yazd, Iran, which has a hot and arid climate, so the architectural design needed to reflect the extreme conditions of the location. The conditions include high temperature difference between day and night, as well as extreme temperature differences between summer and winter. The area is also prone to draught.
47Concept of the green crecheWe designed a creche for 100 children, that is answear to actual climate problems. Our goal has been a development of idea that conncects form and function of the building with respect of envinroment's sources.
69Zero- energy kindergardenOur main idea was to create a building with flexible functionality enabling integration of adults with children and modular division of groups. The project was inspired by a book, we later transformed the idea into the stack of books containing fairytales. Creating the building block was a very creative and pleasant challenge that taught us a lot.
177RITU 'AL - CRECHE FOR ALL SEASONSWe see a child’s relationship with the earth as a lifelong ritual. The crèche becomes a tie as the word ritu in hindi and marathi, the national and local language respectively stands for “seasons’. Envisaged as a SymBiome where architecture is a mutually be beneficial response to changing climates and ecology of City
50SHUBH-RITUChoosing a challenging as well culturally rich and need-based site was the beginning of our design process. The design is a step-by-step development morphing from the sun, wind, light, activities of the children and energy-based appropriation. We have woven vernacular building strategies and materials with modern building principles and technology.
9Form Follows ClimateMy design uses three similarly shaped buildings graduated in height and differentiated by green play areas. A wooden wall serving as a physical barrier to the street clearly defines the buildings as one entity. The double pitched roof resembles a family home rendering the design welcoming towards children while making use of its climatic advantages.
195Sustainable crecheThis creche is designed due to sustainable development. It is a place where creativity and nature meets together.
5Form Follows Climate: SanctuaryThe 21. Century brings many new challenges and possibilities. But the main question today is: how can one build efficient and climate friendly? This is my first attempt to build for the future. Not only for us as architects, but also the children of tomorow.
2THE BIRTHThis project is called “the birth”, which refers to “the birth of life”, reflecting the kids as main users in the day-care center. The huge egg form then responds to the meaning of new life as well as sustainable use.
2CLIMATE MEMBRANEIndiscriminate carbon emissions and resource use have resulted in global pollution and polarization of cities around the world. In response to this atmospheric environment, we allow children to stay in a more functionally safe and natural environment and to use the community at ease by keeping .
