we are trying to define a space in which people can feel like real aboriginals and learn about their ways of living and their unique attitude towards life and nature.

CONSTELLATION - A link between Human, Nature and Culture

The sky and the stars are a common denominator of all civilization, the link that unite man to nature, to dream. Conceived symbolically as a constellation, the project is a sequence of invisible links between the pavilions, a program of concentric clusters that allows the visitor to freely explore the site and by peregrinations encourage discoveries.

In order to efficiently narrate history of Australia to the tourists, we?ve got two strategies in our project: 1. To narrate using all of the senses 2. To narrate visually To achieve these two goals we?ve divided site to respectively four zones: Pre-human and humanization era zone, aboriginal Australia zone, colonial Australia zone and global Australia zone

Australia as a country became known to the rest of the world pretty late compared to other regions around the globe. In order to allow people to fully appreciate and absorb the events of the past we have proposed journey of evolution with architecture spaces and emotions that takes the audience through different stages of the timeline

The project "3 Worlds" has the principle of integrating an idea of community creating large and unified spaces that allow the meeting between people and their interaction with nature, seeking a little the principles, beliefs and ideologies of the Aboriginals. 3 Worlds seeks to teach and encourage seeing, feeling, sharing nature in many ways and understanding

The Collectives Commune

The collective commune is space which focuses on the sense of belonging. Questioning my belonging as an immigrant of Australia whilst Australia moves towards Multicultural country/Global Australia. A place of belonging is being represented under one roof that formulates oneness as the indigenous knowing and belonging to land through ancestral Dreaming.

The Gathering

The Gathering is about bringing the stories of people back to the forefront in learning to be tolerant in conflict, though deepened understanding and acceptance. Perceived as a gallery without walls, visitors absorb the idea of human evolution through spaces enabling the exchange of knowledge to occur.

BirdWalk - Kakadu National Park Tourism Village

'BirdWalk' is a circular ramp between trees and birds of Kakadu. This walk starts on the Village entry and gets to the top of the trees to have sunset and sunrise views. This is also a 'TimeWalk' since you can read about Australia and its history on your way up. This allows a multipurpose community space in the center for gatherings and creative activities.

Common Ground

Designing something new in an ancient place, where geology, nature, history and tradition are neighbours, is not an easy task and requires a unique approach. The title 'Common Ground' comes from the idea of 'everyone's place'. The word for 'everyone' in the Aboriginal dictionary is 'Rowk' and 'Kunrorre' meaning 'ground'.

Kakadu Cultural Center

The concept behind the design as one that is contextually sensitive to the natural surrounding topography, mimicking the angles and proportions of the surrounding natural rock formations. Ancient aboriginal symbols are re-purposed in the courtyard chasm of rough-stone clad megalithic walls.

This is a dream through the eyes of the Rainbow Serpent in the creation of this piece of architecture, celebrating origins of australian myths, symbolism and identity in a contemporary climate. The dream spawns from the middle, meandering and radiating its path throughout the site.
