A Story of Resilience and Reinvention

The journey of Godshot Coffee is one of determination and adaptation. Originally established in Kherson in 2016, the café was among the city's most beloved establishments. However, due to the impact of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the owners made the bold decision to relocate to Odesa, seeking a new chapter for their business. Just 3.5 months after conceptualizing the project, Godshot Coffee opened its doors on July 15, 2023, welcoming both locals and visitors alike.

Bauhaus Influence: Color, Shape, and Proportion

Petrossjan Architecture Studio’s design philosophy is deeply rooted in the Bauhaus movement, favoring clean lines, essential shapes, and functional design over excessive ornamentation. The café’s color palette is dominated by deep blue and brick red, creating a visually striking yet harmonious contrast.

One of the standout features of the interior is the seating arrangement, where red hollow bricks form the foundation of benches, topped with soft cushions to enhance guest comfort. This design not only emphasizes material honesty but also aligns with the café’s minimalist aesthetic.

A Space Designed for Community and Productivity

Recognizing the growing trend of remote work and digital nomadism, Godshot Coffee integrates a communal work table specifically designed for freelancers and creatives. This custom-built metal table, finished with blue matte tiles, features four built-in power sockets, allowing guests to work comfortably without worrying about device battery life.

Lighting and Spatial Organization

The ambiance of Godshot Coffee is further elevated by carefully curated lighting solutions. Large, arched windows flood the interior with natural light while also offering an inviting street view. The artificial lighting, supplied by Polish manufacturers Kanlux and Nowodvorski, includes sleek pendant lights and track lighting systems, reinforcing the clean, modern aesthetic.

To maintain a sense of privacy and organization, the café utilizes dense curtains that separate the main seating area from the utility rooms and restroom. Interestingly, this area has become a favorite photo spot for food bloggers and visitors. A large vintage mirror, bright yellow stall doors, and classic Bauhaus tiles create a stylish backdrop, making it a perfect setting for social media snapshots.
