Hello Wood, initially known for organizing architectural creative camps, has evolved into a full-service design and build studio specializing in innovative modular architecture. While the studio gained recognition through public installations, it has now ventured into unique accommodation developments. Their latest creation, the PEBL Grand, represents a new era in prefabricated cabins, blending cutting-edge design, sustainability, and immersive user experience.

“The PEBL Grand debuted in New York – a larger, upgraded version of the PEBL One, also known as the Workstation Cabin – a dream come true,” said András Huszár, co-founder and CEO of Hello Wood.

Architectural Concept: Organic, Futuristic, and Adaptable

The PEBL Grand challenges conventional architecture with its organic, pebble-inspired form and low-poly design language. Resembling space capsules or geological formations, the cabin integrates seamlessly into both natural and urban environments. Whether installed on rooftops, forest clearings, or industrial landscapes, its modular design offers flexibility without compromising aesthetic appeal.

The cabin combines premium-level comfort with environmental awareness, creating a sculptural, futuristic yet natural aesthetic that emphasizes mobility, sustainability, and speed.

Innovative Construction: Patented Modular System

At the core of the PEBL Grand is Hello Wood’s proprietary CNC-manufactured shell system, currently under patent protection. Its structural composition includes:

  • Solid wood CLT (Cross-Laminated Timber) load-bearing core
  • Insulating and waterproof layers
  • CNC precision 3D geometry

This system allows for complex forms, irregular geometries, and minimal material waste, while enabling rapid assembly. Depending on the exterior cladding—wood, stone, aluminum, or mirrored—the cabin can either blend into its environment or stand out as an architectural statement.

Prefabrication and Customization: Efficiency Meets Luxury

The PEBL Grand is fully prefabricated, flat-packed, and turnkey-ready, allowing for:

  • Rapid on-site assembly (approx. one day)
  • Minimal environmental impact with screw foundation system
  • Scalable expansion with additional PEBL units

Despite its compact footprint, the cabin functions like a luxury hotel suite, featuring:

  • King-size bed
  • Dining and kitchen area
  • Bathroom and panoramic infrared sauna
  • Expansive glass surfaces for natural light

Its flexible modular layout allows it to serve as a festival resting area, meditation studio, creative workspace, guest room, or private sauna, adapting to diverse user needs.

Global Impact: From Budapest to New York

The PEBL Grand has garnered international attention, including from a Brooklyn rooftop project where five units were installed at a New York club. Prefabricated in Europe and shipped flat-packed, the cabins were assembled onsite in weeks, providing performers with stylish, comfortable resting spaces and panoramic views of Manhattan.

“The PEBL Grand is the result of years of dedicated development, which has taken Hello Wood all the way from Budapest to New York,” said Tamás Fülöp, lead architect.

This project exemplifies modern modular architecture that prioritizes mobility, sustainability, and experiential design, opening new pathways for small-scale architecture worldwide.

PEBL Cabins are not just accommodations—they are design objects, sculptural land art, and functional spaces that respond to contemporary architectural demands. By combining innovative structural systems, environmental awareness, and luxury comfort, Hello Wood has created a global benchmark in modular cabin design.
