The AITASHOP Beijing flagship store design, envisioned by Yatofu Creatives, redefines retail architecture by blending industrial heritage with contemporary cycling culture. Located in the culturally rich 751 D·PARK, once the site of the historic 751 Chemical Plant, this 1002 m² flagship is not just a store but a multifunctional experience hub for cycling enthusiasts and design aficionados alike.




Concept: The Future Ruin
Yatofu Creatives' design concept, aptly named The Future Ruin, honors the raw history of the industrial site while projecting AITASHOP’s forward-thinking identity. This immersive environment emphasizes both functionality and storytelling, merging rugged relics of the past with sleek modern interventions. By preserving the weathered desulfurization tanks and integrating them as sculptural elements, the space creates a dialogue between history, culture, and modern cycling lifestyle.



Dual-Zone Spatial Planning
The flagship store is divided into two distinct zones: The Garage and The Experience Hub. The Garage, located at the sunken west entrance, serves as a casual yet dynamic community area. Here, cyclists can wheel in their bikes for maintenance, enjoy a coffee, and connect with fellow enthusiasts. By positioning the maintenance area as a focal point rather than a hidden backroom, the design fosters transparency and interaction between mechanics and customers.



Moving inward, The Experience Hub transforms retail into an immersive cultural experience. Towering desulfurization tanks dominate this zone, creating a dramatic backdrop for product displays, event activations, and thematic pop-ups. It’s a space where shopping seamlessly merges with community gathering and brand storytelling.



Materiality: Industrial Heritage Meets Modern Craft
The AITASHOP Beijing flagship store design celebrates materiality as a bridge between past and present. Yatofu curated industrial-grade finishes — galvanized mesh, stainless steel, and perforated metal — to contrast with the original concrete textures of the building. This juxtaposition highlights the site’s industrial roots while introducing a contemporary edge.




The modular display systems within the Experience Hub allow for seasonal rotations and evolving product narratives, functioning as an “accessory library” for cycling gear and lifestyle items. Warmth is added through Finnish Artek seating and custom-crafted wooden bar stools, creating an inviting atmosphere amidst the industrial framework.



A Cultural Destination for Cycling Enthusiasts
Beyond retail, AITASHOP Beijing acts as a community hub and lifestyle venue. It offers spaces for events, workshops, and social gatherings, promoting a modern lifestyle centered on cycling, design, and outdoor living.
