Scarpa and De Stijl
Basic Concept
In this creation, I want to express Scarpa's work with my own understanding. His conception of architecture in part and as a whole is full of philosophical implications; architecture is not a purely abstract space but a relationship between different elements, walls, floors, ceilings, stairs, doors. They have completely stripped away and turned into the most basic collection of structural elements.
This understanding of architecture is a bit like De Stijl, so I tried to combine the visual characteristics of the two to create a graphic.
The colors used throughout the graphic are also based on those used in Mondrian's drawings, which are blue, red, yellow and black. These are also the three primary colors which have a very impactful visual effect.
