L’Éclat de l’Art
Art Nouveau in the City of Lisbon
The project is designed to celebrate the Art Nouveau era through an innovative theater dining experience. Adhering to the principles of making art accessible to all, integrating art into everyday life, and achieving a "Total Work of Art," the design carefully respects the natural contours of the sloped site. This approach led to the creation of a stepped base that supports the theater dining space above.
In this unique dining venue, the concept of theater dining comes to life with food prepared as a live performance. Chefs will craft dishes in an open, theatrical setting, allowing diners to witness the culinary process as part of their meal. This immersive experience enhances the dining process, transforming it into a multisensory event where art and food merge seamlessly.
The elevated building mass allows the site to remain open and accessible, creating a porous environment that fosters community interaction. The ground floor is dedicated to a dynamic community space, designed to host daily gatherings and events. This design not only brings art and dining together but also creates a welcoming space for social connection and everyday use, fully embodying the guiding principles of the project.
