Reviving Tradition with Modern Intervention

Originally erected in the 1980s, the house underwent several adaptations to meet the evolving needs of its inhabitants. The latest renovation not only preserves the essence of the original structure but also introduces a modern wooden construction for the upper floor, enhancing the living experience while respecting the architectural heritage of the region.

Architectural Strategy: Merging Past and Present

The design strategy was anchored in reverting to the simplicity and clarity of the village's original buildings, characterized by a solid, plastered base and a wooden cubature atop. By wrapping the existing and new structures in a uniform shell of natural fir, MWArchitekten has created a dialogue between the interior and exterior, fostering a symbiotic relationship with the surrounding landscape.
