The site chosen for the project is located in the Birchcliff neighborhood in Scarborough's old district. It is  now a former quarry site used for city redevelopment and town planning. The concept of the project was inspired by the old quarry. Considering the rocks in the  quarries, the benzene ring,  which is common in the chemistry of almost all of  them, has been the starting  point. It is the form, the living thing that allows for structure, behavior, architecture, and reproduction. The project, which consists of a three-dimensional hexagonal cell network, is carried out according to the concept of connectivity. The spatial program of the design allows for the adaptation of the function served by each component. The shell-like façades of the exterior hide the porous interior contained by sheltered rows throughout the natural light system. These buffers allow a transition temperature between the outer and inner volumes. The lattice structure of the building responds to operator settings and functional requirements. The organic form is adaptable and each unit has different dimensions, creating a series of courtyards with sheltered and shaded open spaces.
