TETRIS CITY
Our idea is to create a student camp which brings to life the legendary game Tetris into real three-dimensional volumes. For the realization of the idea we offer 5 variants of modules composed of 15 containers in the shapes of Tetris figures: T, S (Z), O, I, L (J). They can be placed on land in different ways.
Concept

Probably, there is no person on Earth who hasn't played this game at least once. Studenthood is a transition period between youth and an adulthood. Teenagers finish school but still desire to stay longer in that carefree time and delay their growing up.
Our idea is to create a student camp which brings to life the legendary game into real three-dimensional volumes. Tetris City evokes pleasant memories from childhood and youth time, brings nostalgia of passing childhood and delays the inevitable grown up's troubles for a few years.
For the realization of the idea we offer 5 variants of modules composed of 15 containers in the shapes of Tetris figures: T, S (Z), O, I, L (J). Each one of these figure- modules has a separate function.
Modules diversity
Modules diversity allows to discover important sides of comfortable living in the
campus:
- Modules T and S (Z) we called modules of Life.
There are 2 main modules occupied with student rooms.
- Module O is a Communication module. Here we offer to place rooms for sport games (ping-pong, billiard, laser tag and others), lecturing spaces, rooms for group work on student projects and other public events.
- Module I is a Silence module. There is a big problem to find place for privacy and silent independent work in campuses. That's why we offer to make a separate building for this purpose. Small private rooms with computers, printing equipment and WI-FI will be there.
- Module L (J) is a module of Cleanliness. Laundry with washing and drying machines and ironing room will be placed there.
- Different shapes, designs and modules planning allow to create an interesting campus filled with all necessary functions.
Combinatory
Modules combine with each other in lots of different ways and can be placed on land in several variants:
- Point placement of single modules. City forests, parks, preservations and other natural territories can be a territory of placement. For example: it can be a temporary accommodation for a certain period of biology students, ecology students, ...etc summer practice.
- Free placement of several modules on the periphery of settlements and on not tightly built territories. In this case we can combine private and public modules separately from each other and zone territory functionally.
- Forming residential urban block of 5 modules and placing it in a dense urban building. In this case 5 modules get composed together on a common foundation and form an inner court with a space for hanging out together. Students who live in two modules (T and S (Z)) have their own laundry (module L (J) ), leisure time zone (module O) and place for privacy (module I). Each urban block has its own color for a comfortable orientation between lots of equal containers.
- Combination of one, several and all 5 modules during forming of territory building. Different variants of combining modules between each other allow to adapt to different planning structures of existing environmental buildings.
Domestic modules
We developed, in details, internal planning of accommodation modules T and S (Z) in the project.
They consist of 15 containers placed on each other in 3 levels, 6 containers on 1st and 3rd floor , 3 on a 2nd floor.
Module T is for 22 persons accommodation, module S (Z) is for 26. Modules T and S (Z) consist of 3 types of living units:
- Living unit for one person with a private kitchen and bathroom;
- Living unit 2 people with a private kitchen, bathroom and common living room ;
- Living unit 2 people with 2 separate living rooms and common bathroom.
Domestic module T
- Space area: 235 sq m
- Total floor area: 571 sq m
- Living space: 416 sq m (73%)
- Number of storeys: 3 ground floor
Domestic module S (Z)
- Space area: 249 sq m
- Total floor area: 606 sq m
- Living space: 422 sq m (70%)
- Number of storeys: 3 ground floor
Vertical and horizontal communications
T module is equipped with 1 staircase situated on an intersection of all of the 15 containers. S (Z) module has two staircases placed on opposite faces of the central containers. Staircase construction consists of 2 precast Z-elements which lean on a framework or skeleton.
From the second floor there is an exit to opened galleries. The container which is placed above the gallery is supported by a frame grate which is equal to stairs frame. There are entrances into the living rooms of the second floor.
Engineering constructions
There are 3 risers in each accommodation module with a placing of canalization and water pipes. Risers go directly from the 3rd to the 1st floor and places in bathrooms.
