A pavilion structure that is inspired from the bamboo tree. The support structure for the pavilion has columns that are similar to the bamboo tree. The column supports of the pavilion are inspired from natural way in which the bamboo tree grows. The curving roof showcases an organic and flowy nature, spreading away from each other like a tree branch.

The architecture around us greatly influences the nature of a community. This bamboo pavilion is designed to be placed on the terrace of a market in Gangtok, in the Himalayan kingdom of India. The sustainable and low cost material and construction make for an interactive community space for the youth and elderly alike.

Pavilion Two Leaves

Pavilion Two Leaves is a volume inspired by the gentle leaf forms fallen on ground, superimposed together to create shelter with a fascinating variability of spaces catering to varying weather conditions. The parametric structure inspired by natural forms is realized by steel sections and terracotta tiles to create a peaceful and sustainable abode for all.
