The Indomitable Persian Blossom
The design is inspired by the indomitable ‘Persian Blossom’, and focuses on the spiritual connotation of the transition from temporary emergency housing to permanent reconstruction, so as to meet the needs for continuity and sustainable development of the local culture of the designate site.

The design is inspired by the indomitable ‘Persian Blossom’, and pays attention on both functional and spiritual reconstruction for post-disaster.In terms of psychological recovery, the victims unite the community spirit through cooperation, and during the planned building process, the sense of belonging in the community would be created.

In terms of physical construction, housing units need to be emergency, modular, easy to build and make full use of the local workforce. During the process of self-built new community, victims will be able to gradually get familiar with the new physical environment. Also, will enhance the sense of ownership of this new living space.

The site plan aim to provide a main route for medical aid and the green lifeline. The optimal solution of traffic layout is chosen to ensure the fairness of resource allocation after the disaster.

The neighborhood organisation introduces the mutual assistance mechanism for people can help each other during this difficult time. At the same time, the housing units are arranged concentrically, so as to create a sense of community belonging through the reconstruction of homes.

In addition, a spiritual landscape space for commemorative activities, Green Heart Park, is planned for people living in the site, as well as for all citizens. This park encourages the survivals to continue to face the rest of their lives with the resilience of Persian flowers reborn from the soil of the dead.

Although in the contest there was no minimum number of houses to build, I think that the proposal could have sought to generate more units, in a denser program, without losing open spaces
