the architectural memoir of memory

Memory is not static; it evolves, fades, transforms, and survives through people, rituals, and places. Within the Parsi community, the Tower of Silence at Doongerwadi has long existed as a sacred landscape carrying generations of funerary traditions, collective remembrance, and cultural identity. However, changing urban conditions, declining engagement with ritual spaces, and the gradual disconnect between community and sacred landscapes have led to the fading of these memories and spatial pract

Parting in matter,Reunion in spirit

We believe that death is a parting in the material world, while a memorial ceremony is a reunion in the spiritual world. People recall their lives with the dead, talk about their present lives, and create a reunion with the dead. People humbly put the ashes into a clear spring, where the current leads people through separation and flows into a waterfall into

This is a great project; such a tremendous idea; just probably the center area can be more specific in terms of the design, but good project in general.

Back To Earth

The idea of this project is to combine the burial process with the human body compost technology and create a landmark tower to present this process.

Is This The End?

Humans always see cemeteries as a soulless and unbearable place . So they just go there to see their departed family or friends. But we can change this meaning of a cemetery to a plaza by changing a dead place to a dynamic and lively one.

FLOWING TIME

I believe that it needs to clarified the formal elements, there are probably too many, as well as the connection between elements functionally speaking; great way of representing the project.

I appreciate with the concept of the design above as well as the use of space in the urban city. It is such a good idea to combine the bike and car parking underground which maximise the space in the city.

Love the idea of second life. With a tree to hold on for the love ones is full of commemorative value. This design is eco friendly as the world needs more trees than ever due to the climate crisis is getting worst. The basement carpark is a very good concept for busy cities, gives more spaces for green infrastructure on surface and make it a better place for community.

Simple but strong idea; the estructural criteria is not that clear, but there are great spaces; I would work probably more with the park, topography, pathways...

A JOURNEY OF THE DEAD

This proposal redefines the concept of a cemetery and tries to marry the concept of a public space with the place where the dead go to rest... It explores the cemetery as an active part of the urban fabric. It allows for the journey of death to take place in a a public space without interrupting the daily activity of a city and vice versa...
