Water Front
Architecture and design projects that engage with waterfront sites, shorelines, and water-adjacent environments.
PULSE OF THE PLANET
Restoring the balance between the built environment and nature PULSE OF THE PLANET is the heart of the Earth, collaborating with the Lungs (Amazon Forest). The project interweaves and connects tourism, ecology, and community to encourage pure living. Unfortunately due to a bug in the website, I was unable to upload my project and am deeply disheartened.
Connected Vessels
This project explores the idea of water systems connecting through a network of vessels. Water moves through the site in an open loop; it is collected and directed into a cleansing system on site which purifies it on one side and releases it on the other. Through this process the water maintains its equilibrium and provides a lively environment.
Museorial of Water
Museorial is a space designed as a journey of the sequential unfolding of experiential aspects of water through the built environment. This unfolding would inform and make one remember about the qualitative aspects of water through built. Hence, it derives the name from Memorial - 'make us remember' about water, and Museum - to ‘interpret that for education'
Cape in Flow
Within the historical context, the City of Istanbul has always been in an strong social and spatial relations with water that reflects itself in a 'flow'. Having objective to recode the concept of flow, 'Cape in Flow' comes up with new design strategies both for micro and macro scales to rediscover the potentials of the site as an active urban entity.
Floating Archipelago
The Archipelago of the site is a hybridized Urban Public landscape that connects the community with water in different ways. Rain gardens that collect rain water and turns the area into a garden, an Aquarium that connects humans with Marine life, and an observation tower that is positioned to overlook the coast as well as purify/store the water for reuse.
Waves of Reclamation
The project is an intervention within Istanbul Turkey that aims to recreate the site as a liquid landscape. This project does so by creating field conditions from flooding the site that behave in a theatrical and dynamic manner. The field conditions are created with different movements of water. Flooding of the site is controlled through pumps in the site.
The renders are great!
Buoyant Anchor
Water Is an element which has given birth on earth and still supports it. But in 21st century and before because of increase in population and urbanization it is linked with the element which is also a cause of death. As humans we should be able to make peace with water and try to live with so this proposal is about how we can live with water & its disaster.
AMPHIBIOUS STRUCTURES:Building Resilience in Munroe Islands
The thesis project concentrates on exploring new technologies and flood resilient structures in flood prone areas. Taking case of Munroe island where tidal flooding is a usual scene and is noticed to be sinking after Tsunami in 2004, endangering the lives of the inhabitants.Low-lying areas of the island are now under threat of submergence during high tides.
Developing with Water - A Landscape-driven Regulatory Framework
This project initiates from questioning the limitations of planning at the scale of a site. Based on a close reading of a master plan document, it proposes a methodology to test planning documents and a new approach to improve the planning decisions.
Great project
