Beegraphy's Computational Design Challenge Series

Worldwide

Art & Collectibles

This challenge invites artists, designers, and creative minds from all backgounds to explore the fascinating intersection of art and technology. Using computational design tools, conceive and create unique art pieces and collectibles that transcend traditional boundaries. Whether through generative art, 3D-printed sculptures, or interactive installations, experiment with algorithms, explore new materials, and push the limits of artistic expression.

The design should be pramaetrized to fit within a cubical volume of 3m x 3m x 3m.

Design Criteria:

  • Designs should demonstrate a clear integration of artistic concepts with computational design techniques.
  • Each piece should be producible using digital fabrication methods such as 3D printing, CNC machining, or laser cutting, facilitated by BeeGraphy’s CAD tools for the fabrication drawing production.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Creativity and originality in both concept and design.
  • Aesthetic appeal and emotional impact.
  • Practicality in production using computational design methods.
  • Clear and compelling use of BeeGraphy's tools to achieve the final design.

Examples to Inspire:

  • Generative Art: Develop algorithms that produce unique visual compositions, exploring patterns, forms, and colors in ways that challenge conventional artistic approaches.
  • Parametric Sculptures: Design intricate 3D printed sculptures with complex geometries and organic forms, showcasing the precision and possibilities of computational design.
  • Hybrid Art Forms: Combine traditional artistic techniques with computational design, such as incorporating 3D printed elements into paintings or sculptures.
